Transforming Telford is an Economic Regeneration Company that has been set up to drive forward the regeneration and economic growth of the borough.

Advantage West Midlands is one of nine Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) established by the Government in 1999 to transform England's regions through sustainable economic development.

This is primarily achieved by leading the development and delivery of the West Midlands Economic Strategy (WMES). Following extensive consultation, Delivering Advantage –the West Midlands Economic Strategy, was recently updated and launched in January 2004.

At the Strategy's heart is a Vision that all regional partners have committed to achieving: By 2010 “the West Midlands is recognised as a world-class region in which to invest, work, learn, visit and live and the most successful in creating wealth to benefit all of its people”.

English Partnerships is the national regeneration agency, helping to support high quality sustainable growth in England.

This is achieved by developing a portfolio of strategic sites and acting as the Government's specialist advisor on brownfield land.

There are five strategic sites in Telford and non-strategic commercial land available for development.

The Business Link service is a crucial part of the government's campaign to promote enterprise and to make the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a business. Business Link is available locally and quality assured regionally to clear national standards. It is primarily funded by the Department of Trade and Industry, supported by a number of other government departments, agencies and local authorities.

Learning & Skills Council – Shropshire The LSC is responsible for the funding and planning of education and training for 16 yrs old and over in England. The mission is to raise participation and attainment through high-quality education and training which puts learners first. The vision is that, by 2010, young people and adults in England will have the knowledge and productive skills matching the best in the world.

Shropshire Learning and Skills Council, based in Telford, works alongside local employers, learning providers and community groups to provide local solutions for local needs.

Telford & Shropshire Marketing Partnership TSMP brings together, in one membership group, the whole range of local tourism services and offers a unified, integrated service to the business and leisure markets.
